I love spring. After winter the sunshine, colour and new life that comes back to the world is worth waiting for and garanteed to lift spirits. Like most English people when I thought of Greece I thought only of the summer; beaches, cocktails in the sun and lushous green mountains. When I realized that it was possible to have snow my mind was blown. As always snow is fun for a little bit but I was still waiting for spring! In Greece there are some lovely hot days mixed in with some rainy grey days, this is a perfect for a mix of outside and inside activities but my favorite part is the new life and colour (spring)ing forward already I have seen more animals and beautiful flowers that have been away. Each new venture I take out of the house brings me a new lovely surprise and I will continue to enjoy watching life wake up in the Axios national park.

Usually these take place in person and can be used for networking and socializing with other volunteers as well as for the training and extra resources provided by the ESC project.

so we all know what covid is is blah blah, what it means for the seminar is this; at first the seminars were all delayed as everyone was hoping quarantine would end ‘soon’ but when we saw it wasn't the seminar was moved to zoom! Yay everyone's favorite platform and one called hop which I had never heard of that we used to complete tasks.

The actual experience was quite nice, I wasn't sure what to expect but being able to talk to different people doing similar experiences was lovely! I got to hear more about Greece, exciting projects and get to know new people with new ideasaswel as reflecting on my own excperience. It would be lovely to have fun with people in person but online it’s still a chance to change routine and talk to new people for a bit, which was great! Whilst we did have tasks (like home work) and I am human ,homework is not for me, the novelty of it after being out of school for a few years made some of the tasks fun, I’m always up for a kahoot quiz!

of course i would like to do it in real life, have a little party and explore a new place; but as a covid adaption i think they did a good job.

Since two weeks, we welcomed Angélique, a beautiful woman coming Swiss and she came with a lot of motivation to help wild animals. We are enchanted to meet Angélique who are a beautiful life philosophy. 

I advise you to read her chronicles in Liberté newspaper in Swiss. 

I would like that she stays with us but she stays just one month. So, when I will write in this blog the next time, she won't be there.

Kaliméra everybody ! 

We are in March and In Greece, there is a tradition : we put everybody a bracelet to fight against sunburn. It isn't efficient for me, ahaha, I had already sunburn but thanks Quentin to offered me one. 

This month began with intense events, there are a lot of journalists who came in association to interviewed for the poisoning of flamingos which is a frequent event since January 2021. There were a lot of death causing by lead. We had actually one young flamingo which feels better, we have a hope. 

At the beginning of this month, we welcomed one fox so fragile and some hedgehogs with wound due to accident. With Quentin, we assisted to two operations : one on a raptor and an other on a hedgehog. Thanks Sophia to share these with us. 

I write the 15th of March, it's a traditional day for the orthodox's believers : CLEAR MONDAY. There are a lot of persons to visit DRASI association, to share greek foods and above all to fly a kite. Quentin made a handmade kite for this event and Angélique cooked delicious pitas with feta and spinach.
