I had found this tortoise before on 27 October 2012. I think it was the one we had found before in early September in the schoolyard near Strempeniotis (1st EPAL of Neapoli).I spotted it in our garden moving from the space we keep the vegetables (we had pulled every plant out to put new ones) towards the woods. I placed it in our loam, but we found it later in the afternoon heading again for the woods, so I let it be…

On 19th October 2012 we met with the youth group of Education, Training and Rehabilitation of Disabled men Department of Drama, on Mt Korylobos. It is a mountain near the city of Dramra where a fire broke out during summer. Fortunately, the fire was almost immediately under control thanks to the timely interference of the Fire Department staff and the fire-fighting volunteers’ help.

We chose to be there for two reasons. Firstly, to pass the message that where fellow citizens like to destroy, we are present along with many others to rescue and pluck up everyone’s courage. Secondly, youngsters participating in the CDID programs are eager and interested in learning, knowing and experiencing events and situations. Thus we believe that rehabilitation of wild animals to their natural habitat can contribute and come up to the expectations of these people.
It would be impossible for us not to answer EKD and CDID’s call, so we were gladly present there, on Mt Korylobos, to pass on the message that the forest belongs to each and every one of us!

Το Σάββατο και Κυριακή 20-21 Οκτώβρη βάψαμε και καθαρίσαμε το χώρο μας στο Μικρόπολις.
Ευχαριστούμε πολύ το παιδιά του 3ου ορόφου για την εξυπηρέτηση και τη βοήθεια που μας προσφέραν. Ήταν μια ακόμα ομαδική δουλειά που ολοκληρώθηκε με επιτυχία καλό αποτέλεσμα και κυρίως καλό κλίμα συνεργασίας! Το ευχαριστηθήκαμε από τα βάθη της ψυχής μας!

Ο Βαλτόμπουφος, που φαίνεται στις φωτογραφίες, μας ήρθε πρόσφατα από την Δράμα.

Σπάνια τυχαίνει να "φιλοξενούμε" το συγκεκριμένο είδος, επισκέπτεται την χώρα μας κατά την διάρκεια του χειμώνα.

Το βλέμμα του μας εντυπωσίασε.

Την Κυριακή 14/10 επισκέφτηκε το χώρο μας μία μικρή ομάδα προσκόπων. Αφού κάναμε μία σύντομη παρουσίαση του έργου μας, είχαμε τη χαρά να φροντίσουμε μαζί τα ζώα που νοσηλεύονται αυτόν τον καιρό.

Not long ago, we received a Caspian Gull and we were stunned to see it vomit all the garbage it had swallowed, the moment it arrived to our facilities. It took about 10 days to fully recover and regain its strength. When we set it free at the Kalochori area and spread its wings in the air we were filled with joy. Litter is one of the greatest threats for many kinds of seabirds. Needless to say that many types of litter are recyclable, but we unscrupulously throw them away!
