During the summer months, we receive small birds that have either fallen from their nests or are wounded on an everyday basis. A large number of those are storks, which are either wounded, fallen from their high nests, or hit by thunder that fall on their nests during thunderstorms. Those young birds cannot be liberated immediately, but need to be rehabilitated to their natural environment gradually.
For that reason we have created an improvised space, where the young birds which are ready to return to their environment are led. They are mainly youngsters, which are on their first attempts to fly, but even some adults that had some small accident. After a small period, which is individual for each bird, when they are ready to fly, they simply spread their wings and fly back to where they belong!
