Hello, my name is Jessica. I’m from france, nice. I’m a volunteer at Drasi for 2 months. I wanted to commit into something important such as wildlife rehabilitation and also improve my english, that’s why I’m here. I enjoy my time, the work and the landscapes in Greece. During the day I take care of birds like storks, seagulls, buzzards, eagle owl… and also turtles, hedgehogs. I love walking with the dogs at the end of the shift.

Jessica Mary - Service Civic

I had a wonderful time! All the volunteers were very kind. I loved my work with the animals and to discuss with my fellow volunteers and the workers. I have tasted a lot of different specialities of Greece, like the different alcohols, but also many greek dishes. On the days, i went to Thessaloniki, my favourite drink was the aged Tziporo, which was absolutely delicious. I often visited the city on my own, because i love to walk around without a schedule. I have taken many beautiful photos that i sent to my family back in Luxembourg. They all liked the sights and found that even though Thessaloniki looks a bit rough in places, it has still it's own style (charm). I loved every corner, i visited and my pictures were one more beautiful than the other. I had no problem at all to find my way back to Drasi, also the taxi drivers all knew the way, because they all know about the place. All in all i had a great experience, working here or visiting Thessaloniki, but even though i spent many good moments with the volunteers, I would still miss my home town and my family.
