Kalimera...

Kaliméra, we are two new volunteers to Drasi agriazoi with the ESC program. We are a couple and We love doing volunteering. We work for association but also to improve ourself in learning a new field, new culture, new language, new believes, values and thinkings, new rythm of life, new food and in living in community.

We came back, because we were volunteer in this beautiful association in 2021 during 6 months. We begin our volunteering the 15th of september during 6 months. We are motivated, and so happy to see our greek family and to find again our life in Greece. We love them. When we organized our bedroom with Quentin we felt really at home. We have a lot of souvenirs that we have when we saw the refuge. We began to work the monday 17th of september : Quentin cleaned with an other volunteer the 3 containers that the association take for 3 projects and me I did the routine shift with Maria a greek volunteer. I was so happy to take care about the animals again.

During our first week in our new life in Greece, we enjoyed to all the festivals that there are in Greece. September is the month of festivals. We went to the Green wave festival to see the Drasiagriazoi's stand but also to enjoy to discover others associations and the handmade market. It was the friday.
Thé saturday, we participated to the Connected stand festival where we had a stand. Quentin, Florian, me and Sofia our ESC mentor were to the stand next to the Umbrellas statues in Thessaloniki. We welcomed people and explained us the actions and the goal of our association. The actions are to save and care for animals, animal rehabilitation, public awareness and education for fellow citizens. The goal is to fight against the impact of human activity: pollution, loss of habitat, loss of direct intervention by humans (hunting, poisoning, trapping). We informed also people that they Can do a donation : adoption, voluntary work, finnancial support, souvenir, supply and things.
It was a beautiful moment to speak with Greek people and to discover also différents associations which have actions for the social and the environnement.
